I couldn't say what was stuck to the coin (visible with my borescope) in the supply ducting in this bedroom pre-cleaning. I took an air sample within 5 feet of the register in this room and one in the return ducting near the HVAC unit.
Even though I used two different labs you can see before and after results in the HVAC return ducting above was helpful. What changed in the bedroom was a small drop in Cladosporium and both Basidiospores and Myxomycetes showed up post cleaning where they were not found in the pre cleaning test.
Sometimes a different lab, different analyst, or even slight changes in where or how the air sample was taken can pick up new things.
These spores might have always been there — just below detection limits last time.
It is also possible that with cleaning, the spores were dispersed.
