I thought I was going to "die" after a walk-through of a home that had plug-in air fresheners. Did you know that many air fresheners contain VOCs, (Volatile Organic Compounds) which are chemicals that can easily vaporize into the air at room temperature.
Some VOCs, such as formaldehyde, benzene, and xylene, are known to have harmful health effects, including respiratory irritation, headaches, dizziness, and in some cases, long-term health risks such as, respiratory problems and hormonal disruptions.
Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone are perfumes in many plug-ins that may contribute to VOCs emissions.
These plug-in air fresheners are not good for pets or people. Put me on a ladder, in an attic, or in a crawlspace, but don't put me in a room with a plug-in air freshener!
